Serving Families And Celebrating Lives
In 1987, a group of local businessmen wanted more options in funeral service for the people of Alamogordo. They found a building that had been a church and later a school, and renovated it for a new funeral home. Thus was the beginning of Alamogordo Funeral Home.
In 1995, Clark Sears, a longtime Funeral Director from Idaho, purchased the Alamogordo Funeral Home and changed the name to Sear’s Alamogordo Funeral Home.
In 2005, after over fifty years of funeral service, Clark and Norma Jean Sears decided to retire. They sold the funeral home to longtime Alamogordo residents, R. Kent and Lisa Durrett House, who had already established the local crematory, PCS.
It is our purpose and our passion to serve families in need. It is our mission to celebrate lives. People’s needs have changed, and their preferences are greatly varied. Whether the desire is a simple cremation or direct burial, a visitation, a memorial service or a funeral - traditional or contemporary, a reception with light refreshments or fully catered, a balloon release or Military Honors, the possibilities are endless, and we are here to Serve Families and Celebrate Lives.
