Ysidro S. Monje

Ysidro S. Monje passed away on Wednesday, October 15, 2025. He was born on May 15, 1927, in Tularosa, NM to Jesus and Porfiria S. Monje.  

Ysidro loved to be outdoors and working with his hands, especially making his own birdhouses which we got to enjoy. He enjoyed raising chickens and talking about how life was when he was growing up.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ramona Monje, many sisters, and a brother.  

Ysidro is survived by his children, Bertha Monje, Stephen (Theresa) Monje, Robert Monje, Doris (Dan) Smolik, Vikki (Alex) Galaz; grandchildren, Rachel Guillen, Andrea Fajardo, Rebekah Monje, Jessica (Sam) Gutuerrez, Jennifer Lopez (Greg), Roberto Galaz, Maria Galaz; along with several great grandchildren.  

Services for Ysidro Monje will be held on Friday, November 14, 2025, at St. Francis de Paula Catholic Church in Tularosa, NM. Rosary will be recited at 10:00 am followed by Mass at 10:30 am with Father Patrick Montgomery, Celebrant.

Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Tularosa. 

The Monje family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home.
