Walter “Walt” Diegnau, 77, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2021 at his home, surrounded by loved ones. He was born on May 13, 1943 in North Riverside, Illinois. Walt was a true patriot and veteran of the Vietnam War and retired from the United States Air Force as a Tech Sgt. specializing as a jet engine mechanic. He was a Legacy Gold Life Member of the VFW and this year marked his 45th year as a member. Walt loved music, especially rock and roll and proudly supported all of the local bands in the Tularosa Basin. He also loved football and the Dallas Cowboys was his favorite team.
Walter was preceded in death by his mother, Mabel E. Watson Diegnau, his father, Kenneth E. Diegnau and his siblings, Nancy Diegnau, (sister), Kenneth Diegnau, (brother), Marjory Diegnau (sister) and Richard Diegnau (brother).
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to VFW Post 7686 in memory of Walt.
Alamogordo Funeral Home has been entrusted to Walt’s care to direct the arrangements.
