In Loving Memory

Victor was born and raised in sunny California until his early teens.  At that time, he moved to Redmond which is located in central Oregon. 

There were nine (9) Wilkerson children in total.  The first five (5) are one year apart with Victor being #4.  While growing up in Oregon as children we discovered incredible rivers, waterfalls, hot springs and beautiful natural springs that come up through large boulders that lead into bottomless swimming areas like Odem, and Kline Falls.  It was a wonderful playground for nine (9) kids to see the world through. 

Victor entered in the Redmond School System, where he met his friends he has had and loved his whole life.  He met his best friend Marvin Wollem at church shortly after we pulled into town and they have been best friends ever since. 

Victor had two (2) children, Shawn and Misty.  They were his reason for living.  

Victor then traveled east to Virginia Beach, south of Florida and finally ended up here in Alamogordo, New Mexico.  He lived here twenty-five (25) plus years, where he worked in the construction industry with a few of our local builders.  Victor loved to swim, hike, cliff jump, surf, camp and he especially loved family game night. 

He has experienced great happiness and extreme heartbreak in his short life. It is our belief that his heartbreak was more than he could bare. 

He was preceded in death by many relatives he loved dearly.  Victor’s greatest loss was his daughter Misty.  Misty Wilkerson Bassette died at the age of twenty-five (25) while attending college in Virginia. He has left behind his wonderful son Shawn Wilkerson and his beautiful fiancée Candice Cashion and their daughter Kaila White, whom all reside in Ruidoso, New Mexico; (Mother) Margaret Wilkerson of Shady Cove, Oregon; eight (8) brothers and sister as follows:

Deirdre Wilkerson of Alamogordo, New Mexico
Many Nieces and nephews: J. Childe-Venus-Tiffany-Michael-Seth-Julian-Eric-Josh-Kylee-Tressa-Theoden-Owen-Skyler-Dre and Ocean.

There will forever be the nine (9) of us. So, until we meet again Victor!!!

There will be a celebration of Victor’s life, to be held at 3 pm on the beautiful outside patio of the MCM Elegante Lodge & Resort in Ruidoso, New Mexico on Sunday,  August 9, 2020.
