Tommy Eugene Braziel

Tommy Eugene Braziel, 78, passed away Monday, December 25, 2023, in La Luz, NM. Tommy was born on July 14, 1945, to Annie Frances Quick and Carl William Braziel in La Luz, NM.  Tommy grew up in La Luz with his 3 brothers and numerous cousins and friends. For 50 years, he and his wife ran their pump and water well drilling company, Braziel Well Drilling, that later became Statewide Drilling. Tommy enjoyed spending time in the mountains at the family cabin and running any equipment he could get his hands on. During the 12 years of being partners in the Circle Cross Ranch, his grandkids would laugh about the “Papas Roads” on the ranch that he cut down the side of mountains. He always loved spending time with his grandkids and great grandkids. 

Tommy is preceded in death by his parents, Annie and Carl Braziel; son, Carl R. Braziel; brother, Orvil Braziel. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 50 years, Jean Braziel; son, John Braziel (Karen); daughters, Jeanie Sanchez (Richard) and Tommie Sue Jensen (Doug); grandchildren, Jt Braziel (Shelby), Jennifer Van Auken (Cory), Tate Jensen (Rebecca), Layne Sanchez (Taylor), Felicity Hibbard (Jacob), Tyler Jensen (Esther), Adam Sanchez (Elaine), Christopher Sanchez (Tylynn); 11 great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.

Funeral Service will be held at 6:00 pm, Friday, December 29, 2023, at Alamogordo Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers please donate to NMGWA.org or the American Cancer Society.

Pallbearers to serve will be his grandsons.

The Braziel family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the services.
