Thomas R. Lubenau was born on December 10, 1929, in Brooklyn, New York. He passed away in Alamogordo, New Mexico on December 14, 2024, he was 95 years old.
Thomas went to school in Brooklyn and graduated from high school there. He was drafted into the Army during the Korean Conflict from 1950 to 1953. He was engaged to Harriet Johnston, and they married on September 6, 1953. Thomas and Harriet moved from Brooklyn to Alamogordo, New Mexico in 1953, after their marriage. They raised three children and enjoyed taking them to the mountains to hunt and fish.
Thomas studied to become an Electrical Engineer at New Mexico State University. He retired from a career at Raytheon at White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico in 1994.
Thomas is preceded in death by his son, William Lubenau; his grandsons, Randy Lubenau and Tommy Lubenau; his daughter, Jeanette Lubenau Huseman.
Thomas is survived by his wife of 71 years, Harriet, his son, Thomas and daughter-in-law, Carolyn; son-in-law, Lonny Huseman; grandsons, Will Lubenau, Colton Huseman; granddaughters, Allie and Kaylie Huseman.
Thomas found joy in the great outdoors and in music. He loved playing his violin at their church, St. John’s Episcopal Church, and at Grace Methodist Church in Alamogordo.
The Lubenau family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home.
