Terri Harper-Blunt Obituary

On March 27, 2022 Terri Jolene Harper-Blunt of Alamogordo, New Mexico gained her wings at the age of 61. She was born on June 21, 1960 in Alamogordo to James Rudy and Luanna (Collums) Harper.  Terri spent her entire life here in Alamogordo, New Mexico raised by her parents, Alonzo and Luanna McLain.

Terri worked in the family business from the age of 16 until it closed in 1996 after the death of her mother.  She embraced her many passions as a bookkeeper, doing paralegal work and volunteering for many organizations. 

TJ was a fun-loving, free spirit. She loved being around her friends, enjoyed things like playing on the pool and dart leagues, doing crafts and quilting, reading books, dancing, listening to music, and spending much time outdoors, gardening (she loved plants), going to the lake, water skiing, and sitting on sandy beach taking in the view. Most of all, Terri loved her children, they were the joy that put the spark into her eyes. 

Her three children and their spouses, Jami (Scott) Ostler of Mesa Arizona, Tommie Basden-Blunt (Kris) of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Jennifer (fiancé Tyler) Harper of Portales, New Mexico survives her. 

Terri Jo’s pride and joy were her grandchildren, she was an extremely proud Grammy. Her eldest grandchild, who is a Marine, Kaitlyn Rae (fiancé Spence) Ostler stationed at Camp Pendleton San Diego, California, Kayla Ralene Oster of Mesa, Arizona, Brayden Lee Roberts, Austin James McKinley, Brenna Jodel McKinley, and the newest pride, Harper Layne McKinley.   
   
Terri Jo grew up in a close nit family with special bonds with her siblings, Kenny (Joy) McLain, Ivan Harper, Jimmy (Rhonda) Harper, Lori Ann McLain, James Rudy Harper Jr., and Kristi (Todd) McLain-Cullers. 

Her Nieces and Nephews, Justin (Janel) Cole, Jamie, Jace McLain, Alonzo McClain, Johnna (Kendale) Morgan, Payson, Wyatt, Colt, Kendalen Hendrix, Tandi, Trinity, Logan Ramirez, JW (Christin) Jade, Stoker Harper, Wesley, Blaze Harper, Tristen Jolene, MalAchai, Jordan Harper, Seth (Starr) Rogers, Dillon Scott, Tammy, Chaylee, Treyson McLain, Christine, Joel, Carmela Estrada, Nicole (Joe) Timmy Smith, Chad, Conner, Makenzie, Abram, Trey, Dakota Cullers.

She was enriched in life with the relationship she had with her best friend/boyfriend, Harold Johnson. Terri loved him with her whole heart; his children, Anna (Jesus), Makenzy, Christiano Perez, Lee (Laura) Holden, Lola, Bodie Johnson, Bobby (Jacquie) Daisy, Theodore Johnson, Amber (Eddie) Chloe, Aubrey Corley, and Melissa Rood. Niece, Cherrie (Daren) Medina held a special place in her heart and she loved them  all like her own.

 

Terri Jo was proceeded in death by her parents, Alonzo and Luanna McLain and her husband, David R Blunt.

Pallbearers include Keith Walker, Nathan Nowell, David Guilmette, Robert Lambert, Earl (Duke) Ward, and Dan Smelser.

Honorary pallbearers are Arnel Ray Collums, Jason McCraw, David Gonzales, Kevin Cullers, Rick Arone, and Randal Collums.

Please join Terri’s family and friends in celebrating her life on March 30, 2022 at 2:00 pm at the Alamogordo Funeral Home followed burial at Monte Vista Cemetery.

Following the services, the family will receive guests at 1217 Hwy 70 West in Alamogordo, New Mexico.

The family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the arrangements.
