Teresa Marie Coburn

Teresa Marie Coburn, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, was called home on October 5, 2025, just days before her 61st birthday. She was born in Alamogordo on October 15, 1964, to Sammy and Mary Brusuelas. 

On August 12, 1988, she married the love of her life, Jeff Coburn. They had 3 children, Michele, Jeremiah (Courtney), and Joshua (Hayley); and four grandchildren, Jace, Cody, Caleb, and Camila. She loved being a “Nana” and enjoyed time with her grandchildren every chance she got. She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Patricia Coburn; brother-in-law, Jerry (Retha) Coburn; sister-in-law, Kristen (Farmer) Garcia; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Together, Jeff and Teresa pioneered a cowboy church in Tularosa, NM. The church was later relocated to Alamogordo and was known as The Cross Family Worship Center. The church continued until the passing of her husband and best friend in 2017. Teresa’s faith was steadfast and believed that integrity was of great importance. She was a great friend to so many that knew her. She will be remembered for her faith, love, strength, and kindness. 

Teresa had a love for animals that was evident by all who knew her. It began with Cheyenne, the horse she bought shortly after turning 18. She would later raise Australian Shepherds and Corgis but also had a heart for Poodles and Shih Tzus. She has owned every possible farm animal (minus pigs), but those highland cows seemed to be her favorite! Their country home that her family settled in was known as hers and Jeff’s ‘Promise Land’, and that is where so many memories were made.

Teresa was also involved in many organizations that included the Otero County Cattleman’s Association and the Republican Party of Otero County. 

She was welcomed into heavens gates by her best friend and husband, Jeff Coburn; her parents, Sammy and Mary Brusuelas; two brothers, Robert and Sammy Ray Brusuelas; as well as many other close friends and family.

A memorial service celebrating Teresa’s life will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at 4:00 pm at Mountain View Church with Pastor Anthony Torres officiating. Family and friends are invited to come together to honor and remember Teresa, whose faith and love touched so many lives. She will be so greatly missed!
