Telesforo and Julia Maturino

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Telesforo and Julia Maturino who left this earth to be with the Lord in the month of December 2021.
 
Julia Concepcion Sanchez Maturino passed away at the age of 75 on December 14, 2021. Julia was born December 15, 1945 to Serafin Sanchez and Carmen Pino Sanchez in Tularosa, New Mexico.

Julia is preceded in death by both parents, Serafin and Carmen Sanchez; stepmother, Lena Sanchez; sister, Dorothy Sanchez Ryan; brothers, Serafin (Finnie) Sanchez Jr. and Carmen (Debe) Sanchez.

Telesforo Garcia Maturino passed away at the age of 81 on December 24, 2021. Telesforo was born January 5, 1940 to Francisco Maturino and Maria Concepcion Garcia Maturino in Buena Vista Rodeo, Durango, Mexico.
  
Telesforo is preceded in death by both parents, Francisco and Maria Concepcion Maturino; brothers, Valentin, Domingo and Ramon Maturino; sisters, Juana, Petra, Bravlia, and Guadalupe Maturino. 

Left to cherish the memories of Telesforo and Julia are their loving son, Patrick Maturino and wife Crystal; grandchildren, Patrick Maturino Jr, Manuel (Manny) Maturino and Julian Leos of Tularosa, New Mexico; special nephew, Jose Luis Maturino and special niece, Barbara Sanchez who Telesforo and Julia loved like their own children. 

Julia is also survived by two brothers, Leroy Sanchez of Tularosa and Pete Swann of Arizona.

Telesforo is also survived by sister, Maria Maturino; brothers, Manuel, Reyes, Patricio, Rodrigo Maturino, and Aurelio Ortega (nephew) whom Telesforo considered as a brother.

In addition to siblings, Telesforo and Julia are also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and godchildren. 

Telesforo and Julia were married for 52 years and passed away ten days apart of each other. The love they had for each other was a very true and unconditional kind of love. They enjoyed going to yard sales every weekend, going to Spanish dances and listening to Musica Nortena. Even though Telesforo loved his spicy McChicken sandwich and fries from McDonalds, he looked forward to having Julia's homemade red enchiladas with a salad and beans every Friday evening.

Telesforo was always a very hard worker who worked for numerous years at the sawmills in Alamogordo and then went to work at the Inn of the Mountain Gods where he retired after 25 years.

Julia was a homemaker who loved to cook and baby sit. She cared for many children over the years. 

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at St. Francis de Paula Catholic Church in Tularosa as followed: Visitation Vigil will be from 9:30 am to 10:30 am, Rosary will be recited at 10:30 am, Mass at 11:00 am, and Graveside service at 12:00 pm at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. A reception will be held at St. Francis de Paula Parish Hall from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.

Pallbearers include special family and friends of Telesforo and Julia.

A special “Thank You” to the very kind, loving and compassionate hospice workers who helped us care for Julia and Telesforo over the past six months. “You were like Heaven sent angels to us and we are so thankful for everything you did”; Nicole Hoover, Teresa Lozoya, Bruce Freeman, and Naomi Lopez.
 
The Maturino family has entrusted their loved ones to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the funeral services.
