Tarcila P. Peña

Tarcila P. Peña, 95, longtime resident of Alamogordo passed peacefully at her home on January 20, 2026. Tarcila was born on August 4, 1930, in Hurley, NM to Francisco Portillo and Emilia Chacon Portillo.

Tarcila was a parishioner at St. Jude Parish and totally devoted to the Catholic Faith. She will be remembered as a gentle loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and aunt.

Tarcila was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Crispin Sr.; son, Art; 3 brothers; 5 sisters; grandson, Dominic Peña; and daughter-in-law, Linda (Ortega) Peña.

Survivors include her son, Crispin Peña of El Paso, TX; daughter-in-law, Annette Peña of Alamogordo; 7 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at St. Jude Parish Catholic Church on Friday, January 30, 2026. Holy Rosary will be recited at 10:15 am followed by Funeral Mass at 11:00 am with Father Marcel Okonkwo, Celebrant.

A reception for friends and family will be held at the St. Jude Parish Hall immediately after Mass.

The Pena family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the funeral services.
