Shirley Hutchcraft, 84, passed away on March 6, 2026, in Las Cruces, New Mexico. She was born on December 29, 1941, in Jacksonville, Illinois to Howard and Wanda (Still) Henson.

Shirley was a kind and joyful person who always had a laugh and a smile for everyone she met. She was an avid quilter and lovingly made many quilts for the cancer center. She was a member of the Senior Center and the Odd Fellows and truly enjoyed her time as a Red Hatter. Shirley retired from K-Mart and later worked for 28 years at Walmart. She was a devout Catholic and a longtime member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

Shirley was a very colorful person, and her favorite color was orange. In honor of her vibrant spirit, the family kindly requests that those attending the services wear colorful attire.

Survivors include her two daughters, Judy Young of Las Cruces and Cherrelle Multari of Alamogordo; her grandchildren and great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews across the country; many dear friends in the community.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Wanda Henson; her husband, Lloyd Hutchcraft; her daughter, Debora Marie Hutchcraft.

Services for Shirley Hutchcraft will be held on Friday, March 13, 2026, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Rosary will be recited at 10:30 am with Mass celebrated at 11:00 am.

A Celebration of her Life will follow at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 471 24th Street in Alamogordo. All are welcome to come and celebrate her beautiful life.

A private burial will take place at Monte Vista Cemetery at a future date.

While Shirley loved flowers, friends who wish may make a donation in her memory to a local Kitty City.

The Hutchcraft family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the services.
