Sherry Lynn Houston passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at her home in Alamogordo, New Mexico. Sherry was born September 17, 1960, at U.S. Clark Air Base in the Philippine Islands. She is preceded in death by her brother, Bob and her mother, Sandy, whom she loved and cherished.
Sherry is survived and missed by her daughter and son-in-law, Derrica and Randy Jackson, her son, Jason Webb and fiancé Steve Ladd. She is also survived by sisters, Debbie and Patty, brother, Rick, and her father, Roger. In addition, she left behind five amazing grandchildren, Dashawn, Damian, Cory, Jamisyn, and Bradley, all of whom she loved more than anything in the world.
Her memory also lives on in her nieces and nephews, Holli, Christopher, Ryan, Mikayla, Joshua, Michael, Becca, Kyle, Lucas, and Kera.
Sherry will be remembered as a loving mother, daughter, and sister, but her favorite title by far was Nana. Some of her fondest memories were those she made when she spent time with her grandchildren. The unconditional love and affection that she showered on them is something they will remember forever and that they will be lucky to emulate. Sherry (Nana) would stop at nothing to help her grandchildren. She will be sorely missed and forever treasured.
An accomplished swimmer in her youth, Sherry loved the beach and a day at the pool. She loved to travel and enjoyed vacations to Mexico, Japan, Germany, and Hawaii, often to visit loved ones. She enjoyed playing games and doing arts and crafts with her children and grandchildren. Sherry spent her final years after retirement with her long-time fiancé Steve, who deeply loved, admired, and adored her.
Professionally, Sherry was an accomplished restaurant manager and area coach, and she left an impression on everyone she worked with.
Per Sherry’s wishes, there will be no memorial service. Instead, her ashes will be scattered in her beloved Sacramento Mountains, and a Celebration of Life will be held in her memory later this year. We ask for your prayers and well-wishes for our family as we navigate this unexpected and painful time, and while we grieve the loss of this precious woman we all loved so much.
Sherry's family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home.
