Selma was known by everyone as “the sweetest woman I ever met”. She was completely selfless and would do anything she could for her family and friends. She was always happy and never complained even in hard times. Working in her yard and growing beautiful flowers brought her so much joy and was one of her favorite things to do. But nothing brought her more happiness than being around all of her family.
Selma is survived by her sisters, Lona Lent and Joyce Fuson. Five children, Shirley Wood, Karen Huffmon, Bill Garrett (Joyce), Debbie Collins (Stewart), and Milt Garrett. She had numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who she loved very much. Her granddaughter Tamra Inniss worked as her caregiver and took great care of her in the last years of her life. She was surrounded by family when she passed.
Special thank you to her two granddaughters Tamra and Cristy who took care of her in her last days to make sure she was comfortable day and night.
She left this world holding all the love she’s known in her life. She will be greatly missed.
The Garrett family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home.
