Heaven gained another angel when Sarah Sue Farmer (Susie) left this world on September 11, 2022. She was well known for her artistic ability. There are countless paintings throughout Otero and Lincoln counties created by Susie, some can even be found in other countries. Everyone who knew her, knows her cookies and yeast rolls are the best in the land.
Susie became the apple of her parent's eye, Louise and John Buckner, being born June 11, 1945, in Alamogordo. She met the love of her life, and greatest blessing, Jeff Farmer in Alamogordo. They built an extraordinary mountain life for their family in Cloudcroft. Together they raised 3 children, Kathy Powell (Grady Williamson), Gena Farmer, and Bill Farmer (Amanda.) They shared 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Jeff is saving Susie a place by his side in Heaven, anxiously waiting to greet her with the bear hug he was well known for.
She leaves behind siblings, Jean Braziel (Tom) and Eddie Buckner (Cindy); sister-in-law, Linda Eldridge; as well as many nieces, nephews and close friends whom she loved dearly and held near to her heart.
Susie is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Jeff Farmer; mother and father-in- law, Myrtle and Charlie Dean; her brother, Johnny Ray Buckner; and nephew, Carl Braziel.
Many thanks to Grady for his immeasurable love and support; Kim Compary, Nicole Duran, and Beth Walker for your love and support for Mama that went above and beyond. Thank you to Ambercare Hospice, Kate and Erica, and the staff at the Aristocrat who are too many to mention for loving and respecting Mama and going above and beyond taking care of her.
