Sandra Louise Chavez, 53, passed away on March 21, 2026, in Las Cruces, New Mexico. She was born on September 29, 1972, in Alamogordo, New Mexico, to Alejandro Chavez and Veronica (Sandoval) Reyes.

Sandra was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and partner whose presence brought warmth and strength to those around her. She had a caring heart, a strong spirit, and a deep love for her family. Sandra cherished the time she spent with those she loved most, and she created countless memories that will forever be held close by her family and friends.

She is survived by her daughters, Ashley Chavez and Memoria Rocha; her beloved granddaughter, Azileah Chavez, who brought her great joy; her mother, Veronica Reyes; her sisters, Angelina Chavez, Amanda Chavez, Antoinette Mayers, Alicia Chavez; her brother, Alejandro Chavez Jr.; her partner, Gene Chenault. She also leaves behind many extended family members and dear friends who will miss her deeply and remember her with love.

Sandra was preceded in death by her father, Alejandro Chavez, and her son, Isaiah Vasquez, whom she loved dearly.

A funeral service honoring Sandra’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, April 17, 2026, at Mountain View Church with Pastor Anthony Torres officiating.

Sandra’s love, kindness, and the memories she shared with her family will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Though she may be gone from our sight, she will never be gone from our hearts.
