Rosario Magallanes Cardiel

Rosario Magallanes Cardiel, 80, passed away on September 9, 2021 in Alamogordo, New Mexico. She was born on February 9, 1941 in El Salvador, Jalisco to Federico and Bruna Magallanes. 

Survivors include her husband, Jesus Cardiel of 64 years; children, Ricardo (Lilly), Lupe (Michael), Arturo, Yolanda (Robert), Elvia (Dale), Demetrio (Alicia), Moises (Lynn), Nolberto (Lourdes), Alma (Alfredo), Esmeralda. and Aaron (Gina); and 65 grand and great grand children. 

Special thanks to numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, friends, and family that were there for our moral support.

Thanks to Patricia Ascencio Baker and the rest of Alamogordo Funeral Home, the Alamogordo Hospice Team and Lincare that assisted us in all our mother’s needs. 

The Viewing will be held from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at Alamogordo Funeral Home Chapel, 2301 E First Street. Rosary will be recited following the visitation at 5:30 pm by Elvia Jones. 

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Wednesday, September 15, 2021at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 705 Delaware Avenue, with Father Martin Cornejo, Celebrant. 

Burial will follow at Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery. Eulogy will be given by Rosalinda Mooney, first grandchild. Alter server will be Julian Mooney. 

Pallbearers include Ricardo Cardiel II, Carlos Rene Martinez, Miguel Angel Cardiel, Matthew Cardiel, Adam Cardiel, Darron McCowan, Joshua Williams, Jeremiah Williams, Diego Cardiel, Mateo Cardiel, and Daniel Cardiel. Honorary pallbearer Arkiro Cardiel will be held by his father and youngest child, Aaron Cardiel.

The Cardiel family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the funeral services.
