Rosario O Aragon, 74, of Tularosa, NM peacefully went to be with the Lord on March 23, 2021. She was born on January 28, 1947 in Ancho, NM to Patricio Otero and Maria Dolores Montano Otero. Rosario graduated from Tularosa High School in 1966 and continued her education at NMSU. She worked as a cook for Betty Dare and was a teacher at HELP Headstart.
Rosario was a very devoted Catholic, Sacristan and choir singer. Her favorite things to do were swimming, exercising, singing, and dancing, especially to Spanish music. She also loved praying the rosary for everyone and reading books of the Bible. Being with her family and friends made her the happiest. Her favorite color was Turquoise and her favorite cartoon character was Betty Boop. Rosario loved to cook for anyone who walked in her house and became friends with anyone she met.
Survivors include her 6 children, Christine Lucero (Edward) of Tularosa, Robert Jr. (Debbie) Lucero of La Luz, Abraham (Maria) Lucero of Alamogordo, Dolores (Frankie) Diaz of Tularosa, Joseph Lucero, Marisa Aragon (Lorenzo) of Albuquerque; her sisters, Stella, Cecelia, Margie; her brother, Patricio Jr.; her 19 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Patricio Otero; her mother, Maria Dolores Otero; and her brother, Steven Otero.
Visitation for Rosario will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Monday, April 5, 2021 at St. Francis de Paula Catholic Church in Tularosa.
Graveside Service will be at 12:00 pm, Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Tularosa.
Due to the COVID Pandemic, occupancy at the visitation is limited to no more than 10 people at a time. Further, attendance at the graveside is limited to 10 people as well. Please practice social distancing at all times. Thank you for adhering to the Department of Health mandate.
Pallbearers include Lorenzo Lopez, Frankie Diaz, Devin Aguirre, Jacob Lopez, Brandon Lucero, and Gabriel Lucero.
Honorary pallbearers include Jimmy Armijo, Julian Hernandez, Gene Gore, Genaro Brusuelas, Andrew Lopez, Mando Brusuelas, Julian Lucero, James Otero, Edward Brusuelas, Johnny Lucero, and Jonathan Snyder.
The Aragon family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the services.
