Rosalie Esquibel Salazar Obituary

The morning of March 10, 2025, our Lord called Rosalie Ann Esquibel Salazar home. After several years of various illnesses and pain, Rosalie was unable to fight anymore. Rosalie was born on November 30, 1961, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Roswell, NM.  Rosalie grew up in Roswell attending Pecos, Mesa and Roswell High School where she graduated in 1979. After graduating, Rosalie moved to Mescalero and lived with her Uncle George and Aunt Kita. She secured a job as a front desk clerk at the Inn of the Mountain Gods. Rosalie really enjoyed interacting with the public and she had the friendly personality that made her good at customer service.

While working at the Inn of the Mountain Gods, she met her future husband, Andy Salazar. Rosalie and Andy were married on June 18, 1983, and they moved to Tularosa to begin their life together. Soon thereafter, Rosalie started working at the K-Mart store in Alamogordo and worked there until the store closed its doors. After about 10 years, Rosalie and Andy welcomed their first of two children, Cassandra, and after a time they welcomed their second child, John. Rosalie enjoyed baking cookies and other goodies. She would drive around to various family and friends' homes to share all the goodies. Over the years she enjoyed playing bingo and occasionally the slot machines for relaxation. Rosalie made many friends easily and always had a smile on her face. In recent years, even though she was feeling pain, she would always have a friendly smile for everyone she met. She enjoyed going to the 4th of July celebration and rodeo in Mescalero, the Gathering of Nations in Albuquerque, and the rodeo competitions.

Rosalie was proceeded in death by her father and mother, Pete and Dora Esquibel. Rosalie is survived by her husband, Andy Salazar Jr. of Tularosa; her children, Cassandra Salazar of Albuquerque and John Salazar of Tularosa; brother, Pete Esquibel and his wife RoxeAnne of Alamogordo; brother, Abel Esquibel of Bent; brother, Larry Esquibel and his wife Margie of Roswell; sister, Brenda Saenz of Roswell; numerous nieces and nephews, many of whom were baptized by her and Andy.
