Robert I. Jarvis III, 85 years young, went peacefully to be with the Lord on March 29, 2022 in Alamogordo, NM. He was born on March 8, 1937 in Santa Monica, California to Robert I. Jarvis II and Mary Louise Bittleston.
Robert was a retired law enforcement officer with 31 years of service. After his retirement, Robert loved working with children with special needs and substituting at both the Alamogordo High School, and the Ruidoso high School. Robert served three years during the Korean War while in the United States Army. Later, he served 4 years in the Vietnam war while in the United States Air Force.
Survivors include his sister, Jenny Graves of NY; his wife, Rita Calixto-Jarvis of Tularosa, NM; his sons, Dokken Jarvis of Kansas and Beau Jarvis of Ruidoso, NM; his daughter, Candi Acevedo of Tucson, AZ; his stepsons, Jeremiah Ryle of Phoenix AZ, Frankie Ryle of Indianapolis, IN and Joshua Ryle of Casper, WY; eleven grandchildren: Drew Zwahlen, Daemiyn Acevedo, Sophie Ryle, Eliora Ryle, Zacharia Acevedo, Ian Ryle, Airalynn Ryle, Alek Ryle, Joshua Ryle, Ezekial Ryle, Luca Jarvis; and his great granddaughter, Eira Lynn Zwahlen.
He was preceded in death by both his parents, Robert I. Jarvis II and Mary Louise Bittleston.
Services for Robert will be held at St. Frances De Paula Catholic Church in Tularosa, NM on Friday, May 27, 2022. Rosary will be recited at 10:30 am with Mass to follow at 11:00 am with Father Patrick Montgomery, Celebrant.
Should friends desire, contributions may be made to Casa Arena Blanca Nursing Home for the elderly who have no family to help supply their basic needs: shampoo, toothpaste, after shave for men, small bottles of perfume, hair needs or nail polish for women. All of these things are small things that let them know they are still cared about. Contributions will be made in the honor of Robert I. Jarvis III.
