Robert Claude Hamblen

Robert Claude Hamblen, 83, peacefully went to be with the Lord on May 30, 2021 in La Luz, NM. Robert was born on September 22, 1938 in Carlsbad, NM to Thomas Glenn Hamblen and Goldie Joyce Riordan. 

Robert served in the United States Army from 1961- 1963 and was Honorably Discharged. He then started his career with El Paso Natural Gas Company where he retired after 33 years moving to La Luz, NM where he lived the remainder of his life. Robert loved country music and loved playing the drums for his family and friends. He loved woodworking and working in his shop and he was also a big Dallas Cowboys’ fan. Robert enjoyed helping people in his community. 

Survivors include his son, Robert Glenn Hamblen of Gallup, NM and his sister, Judy Findley of Gatesville, TX. Robert had 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.  

He is preceded in death by his father, Thomas Glenn Hamblen and mother, Goldie Joyce Riordan Hamblen.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date in La Luz, NM.

The Hamblen family has entrusted their loved one to the care Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the arrangements.
