Robert Andrew Caldwell Jr., 44, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at his home in Alamogordo, NM. Robbie was born in Landstuhl, Germany on June 4, 1980, to Robert Caldwell and Janice Thibodeaux.
Robbie enjoyed sports, competing on the E.A. Laney High School wrestling team and also participated in Special Olympics in North Carolina and New Mexico. Robbie continued as a sports enthusiast by becoming a referee and umpire in multiple sports. He enjoyed people, and youth sports was his favorite place to be. He enjoyed playing golf with his grandfather or whomever wanted to challenge him to a game of golf.
As well as sports, Robbie loved cooking. He attended Dona Ana Community College in Las Cruces working toward a culinary arts degree. As a matter of fact, this was Robbie's pick-up line when he met the love of his life...he said, "Can I cook you dinner?" They were both riding Z Trans here in Alamogordo at the time. After a year impressing his love, Amber Lyne Engel, he proposed, and they married on October 17, 2008. They were married for sixteen years when Robbie passed away.
Robbie worked in the fast-food industry for many years before finally settling at Albertson's where he worked for five years. He truly enjoyed people. He always had a smile on his face and a joke to tell.
Robbie is survived by his wife, Amber Lyne Caldwell, of their family home; his parents, Robert Caldwell Sr. (wife Holly) of Florida and Janice Thibodeaux of North Carolina; brothers, Michael Caldwell (wife Jacqueline) of Colorado and Edward Thibodeaux of North Carolina; grandmother, Carolyn Thibodeaux of North Carolina.
He was preceded in death by grandfather, Eujay Thibodeaux; grandmother, Lois Caldwell; grandfather, Robert Buyers Caldwell.
The Memorial Service for Robbie will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, February 28, 2025, at Christ Community Church, 2960 N. Scenic Dr., Alamogordo, NM, 88310. The family would like you to join them by wearing Robbie's favorite color, blue, to celebrate his life.
Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you", declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
The Caldwell family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home.
