Richard Whaley II Obituary

It is with a sorrow filled heart that we announce the sudden passing of our brother, Richard Lee Whaley II. He was born February 28, 1956 in Alamogordo, New Mexico to Richard L. and Z. Faye Whaley, and passed on June 15, 2021 at his home in Spanaway, Washington.

Rick is survived by his fiance, Becky Kuich; sisters, Darlene Wooders (Woody), Jeanie Abney (Rocky), Janet Bruneau (Ernie), Joan Stimpson (Don); daughter, Rachel Slaymaker (Adrien) and 2 children; stepson, Brian Bagby (Marcy) and 2 children; son, Jeff Whaley (Amanda) and 2 children; son, Richard (Dick) Whaley (Emma Erickson) and 2 children.

After receiving his high school diploma in 1975, Rick moved to Albuquerque where he earned a machinist degree which eventually landed him in Washington state where he retired about 3 years ago. He enjoyed many outdoor hobbies including gold hunting, deep sea fishing and finding bargains at the thrift store. There wasn't anything that Richard couldn't fix. He was an avid bowler and pool player. Rick's gentle and fun spirit will be missed by many.

A Memorial will be held in his honor from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at New Heart Cowboy Church, 1311 Galway Drive, Alamogordo, NM with Pastor Vic Williford officiating.
