Richard E Hoffman

Richard E. Hoffman was born to the late George and Joan Hoffman in Wayne County, Pennsylvania on December 28th 1952, but sadly passed away on May 23rd, 2022. Rick was a loving man who dedicated his life in service to others. He was a proud member of the Coast Guard, giving 28 years to this great nation. Enlisting at just 18 years old, Rick’s distinguished career took him from a humble enlisted man to the highest commissioned Chief Warrant Officer one can become. He served so we could be free.

Rick spent a lifetime becoming the best version of himself each and every day, He never stopped striving to improve and evolve. He was a man dedicated to growth and knowledge and didn’t just rest on his accomplishments but instead educated himself to the point where he eventually became a college professor; teaching, influencing, and molding young eager minds for nearly a decade. 

But it wasn’t Rick’s Military accolades or his educational accomplishments that defined him, it was his love and commitment to the people in his life. He was a giver, charitable, modest, and just a truly good soul. He was a dedicated son, loving husband, committed brother, an inspirational parent, a proud grandparent, an amazing friend, a lover of animals, and just a remarkable human being. He was the best of us…he was good…he was kind…he was our Rick. 

Rick is survived by his loving wife, Duang AKA "Sweety"; his step kids, John Longo, Joe Longo and Gerry Sedillo; his grandchildren, Bryanna, Jasmine, Cristian, Ethan, AJ, Elora, Jesus, Alannah, Alyssa, and Annabella; multiple great grand children,; his cousin, Jamie Weaver; his amazing sister, Dona Thompson, her husband Randy, and their kids, Tyler and Aubrey; and so many other loving friends, which he made into his own little family. He will truly be missed. Until we meet again...We love you Rick.

The family will greet friends from 10:30 am to 11:00 am on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at Alamogordo Funeral Home Chapel.

The memorial service for Richard Hoffman will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, June 18, 2022 at Alamogordo Funeral Home Chapel.

The Hoffman family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the services.
