Ricarda (Rockwell) Gigler

Ricarda (Rockwell) Gigler, 61, passed away peacefully in her home on June 16, 2021 in Alamogordo, NM while surrounded by her loving family. Ricci, as her family and friends affectionately knew her, fought a courageous battle with brain cancer with her loving husband, Ray, by her side.  Ricci was born to Robert and Renate (Waldhaus) Rockwell October 2, 1959 in Wiesbaden, Germany, moving to Holloman Air Force Base as a young child. 

After graduating from Alamogordo High School, Ricci enjoyed life as a military spouse traveling the world with her children. She later made Alamogordo, NM her permanent home where she would eventually meet and marry the love of her life, Raymond Gigler. Ricci enjoyed a long and successful career at Bealls department store, where she received many awards and commendations and took great pride in her achievements. She was also a champion bowler and had a shelf full of trophies to attest to her earlier achievements. Ricci had a passion for style and enjoyed dressing up and looking her best. She also enjoyed cooking her favorite German dishes and sharing her love of her German culture with her family. Her homemade and artistically detailed birthday cakes were a work of art and an expression of her deep love for her family, which will be sorely missed. Ricci enjoyed traveling with her husband frequently, and would often take her grandkids to share in her love of new experiences. She was a nurturing mother and a doting grandmother, and her kind and generous nature was a testament to her beautiful soul. 

She is survived by her adoring husband, Raymond Gigler; her two children, Rosalia (Derek) and Jose Pizano Jr.; her beloved step children, Justin (Cindy) Gigler and Amber Wails; her brother, Robert (Shelley) Rockwell and their family; her dear family in Germany; her nieces and nephews; and by her many grandchildren who were the light of her life. She was preceded in death by her mother, Renate Rockwell and brother, Michael.
 
The memorial service for Ricci will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, June 25, 2021 at Alamogordo Funeral Home Chapel.
