Randy Ogas Obituary

It is with a broken heart that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, brother, uncle, and friend.

Randy Luis Ogas passed away on October 15, 2023, at the age of 53 and is now resting peacefully following a long battle with paranoid schizophrenia, and recently diagnosed with emphysema. He was born on May 6, 1970, in Roswell, NM to Rudolph and Teodora Ogas.

Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Graciela Palafox-Ogas of Alamogordo; his sister, Lolita Brinning (John) of West Chester, IA; two brothers, Alvaro Ogas (Sandra) of Albuquerque, NM and Barney Ogas (Becky) of Amarillo, TX.

Randy is preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph and Teodora Ogas and sister, Maria Ogas all of Roswell, NM.

Randy served in the United States Air Force from 1988 to 2003 and spent his whole career in Alamogordo, NM. He had many oversea tours to Korea, Saudi, Italy, and Canada where he earned many, many medals in such a short time of service. When Randy made Master Sergeant at 15 years, he was the second in the country to have the highest score. He was then medically discharged.

Randy had a great love for woodworking and construction, and there was nothing he wouldn't try...electrical, brick laying, welding, concrete, and many, many more trades. He always knew just how to make things work and his love of remodeling his home was always his joy. His love for music was in fathomable.
