Mrs. Pauline (Pablita) Sanchez-Chavez passed away peacefully on November 25, 2023, at the age of 98.
Pauline was a devout catholic, she taught catechism, loved sharing Jesus, the bible, and the rosary to all whom she encountered. She was a loving mother to her son, Refugio; her daughters, Vigil, Margaret, Jasmine, and she also raised Natalie. She has 6 grandchildren, Monique, Nathan, Tasha, Julian, Shane, and Sandra. Pauline was also a very proud great grandmother of Keesha, Alexis, Emerald, Talynn, Zack, Paul, Emeleigh, Marissa, Anahi, Daniel, Brianna, Matthew, Jacob, Isaisas, Angelita, Marco, Kalani, and Aubriel; and great-great grandmother to Romeo and Kayden; as well as numerous other children who called her grandma. She also leaves behind many dear nieces, nephews, cousins, and also the many great friends she made over the years whom she considered family.
Pauline was born on April 13, 1925, (May 13,1925) in Pinos Wells, New Mexico to Patrocinio and Tomasita Sanchez. She married the love of her life Natalio Chavez on January 13, 1950, and were married for 68 years until his passing. Pauline had 7 children burying two babies at birth, Evelyn Louise and Mary Helen; son, Wilford at 6 months; and son, Fernando who was 49; she also buried her newborn grandson, Patrick and adult grandson, Nathaniel.
Since she was a young lady, Pauline was known for her big heart, her love of dancing and praying the Rosario. She was a resilient, selfless lady who took care of others and was known for cooking great meals for all who entered her "cocina". Her family will miss her dearly; her kind spirit, gentle eyes, smile, and her consejos (wise words).
She was preceded in death by numerous family members, in her words before she passed away, "Una Carga" (too many to count).
Pallbearers include Julian Serna, Nathan Portillo, Paul McDaniel, Shane Rohlfshagen, Alex Green, Daniel Calderon, and Zachary Chavez. Honorary pallbearers are David Baca, Don Sanchez, Abe Sanchez, and Natividad (Jr.) Sanchez.
