Patricia "Pat" Mooney Obituary

Patricia "Pat" Ann Mooney entered this world on July 19, 1936. It was the hottest July day on record up to that point in St Louis, MO. She was born at home, as was common in those days. Pat departed this world, bound for Heaven, on March 12, 2024. In between, was a life well lived.

Pat was a devoted wife, mother, friend, and companion. Her children were always her first priority, and she was fierce when their wellbeing was in jeopardy. Pat had an adventurous spirit and enjoyed outdoor activities. She would rather spend the day in the woods hiking, fishing a clear mountain lake or stream, or snowmobiling in the snow-covered mountains of New Mexico, Nevada, Utah, Idaho, and Wyoming. She especially enjoyed snowmobiling in Yellowstone National Park. Pat also liked white water rafting, riding roller coasters, and fishing in remote areas of Alaska. She loved aerobic dance and imparted that love of dance and music into her grandchildren.

Pat was born in Missouri and her life ended in New Mexico, but in between those two points, she lived in Texas, Tennessee, California, Utah, Nevada, Hawaii, and Japan. As the wife of a sailor, she faced the issues of picking up and relocating her family wherever and whenever the U.S. Navy decided to send her husband Jerry. New homes, environment and schools were a challenge for her and the kids to deal with every 2 or 3 years. She met these challenges every time and kept the kids assured that everything will work out and together they would be ok.

Pat was preceded in death by our son, Brian Michael and her sister, Celest Ann. She is survived by her husband of 68 plus years, Jerry; son, Jerome; daughter, Diane; daughters-in-law, Cindy and Jennifer Mooney; 7 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Pat is and will continue to be missed by those who knew and loved her. Don't cry for her, but remember her kindly...
