On January 25, 2021, Oscar Guerrero Cereceres, loving son, grandpa and father, passed away at the age of 63.
Oscar was born on June 13, 1957 in El Paso, TX, but spent his formative years in Roswell, NM. He later moved to the Alamogordo area, falling in love with “the country” in the La Luz and Tularosa areas.
Oscar is survived by his loving mother, Mary Rubio (Manuel) of Roswell, NM; his children, Carmelita Wasson (Steven) of Nevada City, CA, Oscar Cody Cereceres (Amanda) of Alamogordo, NM and Juan Cereceres (Angel) of Alamogordo, NM; his siblings, Elsie Candelaria (Edward), Marty Cereceres, Rosie Perez, Adrian Rubio, David Rubio, and Lupita Rubio; his grandchildren, Summer, Sybella, Aria, Paisley, Juanito, and Hazel; and many other cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Guerrero “Oscar” Cereceres; and siblings, Sally, Norma and Martha.
Oscar was an optimistic, fun-loving man that loved to cook for those he loved and enjoyed his huge family. He enjoyed spending time with his local grandkids and caring for his parents. He loved working on the property he shared with his prima, and helping others when he could. His jokes and silly catchphrases brought smiles to those around him. He will be missed by many. Peace, Love, and Recycle.
The Cereceres family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home.
