Michael M. Moreland

Michael M. Moreland, also known as Mr. Mike, Brother Mike, and Mighty Mike, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Monday August 26, 2024, at the age of 76.

Michael was born on January 16, 1948. During his lifetime he served his country honorably for four years as a cook in the US Air Force, gaining the rank of Airman First Class (E3). Michael earned the following awards/decorations: National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 1 Bronze Service Star, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and Air Force Good Conduct Medal.

After his service in the military, Michael went on to serve Jesus Christ for 27 years and was a faithful member of the Alamogordo Potter's House. He was involved in the Children's Church Ministry, never missed a church or revival service and was faithful to every impact team or outreach event. But most of all, he was known to many as a great prayer warrior, in part of the Lord's Army.

Michael was a humble man who spent many hours in prayer every day. He often prayed for members of the Alamogordo congregation, lost loved ones, those sick in body, and for revival in our nation. If you're reading this, you were most likely on his prayer list and would be prayed for often by him. Many would agree that the world was not worthy of this man, he was a friend to all an enemy to none. The Alamogordo Potter's House Congregation was honored to have known this great man for almost 30 years.

Michael is survived by his three children: Paul Salas, Esther Yarbrough, Cathy Moreland; five grandchildren: Jessica Salas, Brodie Salas, Tommylee Salas, Anthony (Monica) Romero, Aaron (Naomi) Yarbrough; six great grandchildren: Landon Rue, Kecllyn Romero, Airy Don Romero, Mykell Romero, Zariyah Romero, Anthony Romero Jr.; and many brothers and sisters in Christ.

Though we mourn our greatly beloved Mike Moreland, we know he is walking on streets of gold and shouting the victory. He would like nothing more than those reading this to come to know Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior and one day join him in heaven.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at Alamogordo Potter's House.

The Funeral Service for Michael Moreland will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, September 14, 2024, at Alamogordo Potter's House.

Graveside Service will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at Fort Stanton Veterans Cemetery.

The Moreland family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the funeral services.
