Maximiliano Candida Griego

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Maximiliano Candida Griego, who was called home to the Lord on Tuesday, March,18 2025. He was born on April 29, 1947, to Maximiliano Griego and Josefita Griego in Santa Fe, New Mexico. 

Max was a very loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. He was the patriarch of the family and loved all of his family and friends with all of his golden heart. He enjoyed upholstery, landscaping, getting scrap metal, gardening, raising Chinese Shar Pei’s, and going to the casino.
  
Max was preceded in death by his parents, Maximiliano and Josefita Griego; his son, Maximiliano Griego III; his brothers, Eloy Griego (Mary), Ignacio Griego (Merlinda), Alfonso Griego, John Griego; his sisters, Mary Larranaga and Maria Filia Lopez (Alfonso Apodaca); his grandson, Michael Paul Griego. 

Max is survived by his loving wife and partner of 57 years of the family home, Corine Griego; his daughters, Simona, Rosa (Chon), Rufina (Nick); son, Michael (Anna); sister, Maxine (Lee); his grandchildren, Monica (Alejandro), Juliana (Joe), Amin, Maria Rosa, Michelle, Josephine, and Nick; great grandchildren, Sariyah, Mateo, Feliz, Julius, Alaina, and Gavin.

Services will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at St. Jude Parish Catholic Church with Father Marcel Okonkwo, Celebrant. Rosary will be recited at 10:15 am with Mass Celebrated at 11:00 am.

His remains have been cremated, and a private ceremony will take place at a future undetermined time. 

The Griego family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home.
