Maura Louise Wilson, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend passed away peacefully on September 2, 2025, at the age of 87. She was born on July 1, 1938, the youngest of six children in the Smith family, and cherished her role as the baby of the family.
In 1963, Maura flew to Yokohama, Japan to marry the love of her life, Jim Wilson. As a devoted and supportive military wife, she stood faithfully by his side through his service until his retirement in 1975. Their marriage was a true partnership, lasting nearly 58 years until James’ passing in 2021.
Maura and Jim were blessed with three sons, James (Jimmy), Gary, and Glen, whom she raised with devotion, pride, and love. She celebrated their accomplishments with joy and took particular pride in the fact that each of her sons achieved the rank of Eagle Scout.
Maura was a woman of many gifts. Creative and talented, she had a remarkable eye for decorating and found joy in making every holiday in the Wilson family home festive, warm, and inviting. Her fierce loyalty to her husband, her playful sense of humor, and her deep love for her family were hallmarks of her life.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James (Jim) Wilson. She is survived by her three sons, James (Rebecca), Gary (Monica), and Glen; her beloved grandchildren, Patrick, Chelsea, Brianna and Dakota James; great grandchildren, Ryan, Stevie, and Bodie; as well as her friends who will carry her memory forward.
While she will be deeply missed, her loved ones take comfort in knowing that she is reunited with her beloved husband in heaven.
