Mary (Parnell) Campbell

Mary Campbell, 86, peacefully went to be with the Lord on March 23, 2021 in Alamogordo, New Mexico. She was born on July 17, 1934 in Rea Valley, Arkansas to James and Ida (Ott) Parnell.
 
Mary, better known as Nana, graduated from Flippin High School in 1953 as the Salutatorian of her class.  During her years of high school, Mary served as the Class Secretary, a member of F.H.A. and played both basketball and softball. Shortly after in 1954, she went on to marry the love of her life, Kenneth Campbell, where they went on to have three children. They moved to New Mexico in 1965 where they would live out the rest of their lives.  

Mary was a dedicated homemaker, who loved taking care of her family. She was very artistic, as her favorite hobbies included sewing, crocheting, gardening, and painting. One of her simple pleasures in life, were collecting and trying new recipes. Mary was always creative in the kitchen where she had a reputation of being a wonderful cook. Mary served her community as she played an active role in the Boles Acres Baptist Church. Additionally, she sold AVON for many years which led to many long lasting friendships.

Anyone that knew Mary, knew that they could always count on her for a warm smile, good conversation and a wonderful meal. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Survivors include, Mike (Linda) Campbell of Berryville, AR, Mark (Judy) Campbell of Alamogordo, NM, Kathy (Campbell) Evans of Alamogordo, NM, 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Ida (Ott) Parnell, sisters, Thelma Carrol, Vera James and Wilma Jean Parnell, brother, Harvey Parnell and beloved spouse of 64 years, Kenneth Campbell. 

A graveside service for Mary Campbell will be held at the Monte Vista Cemetery in Alamogordo, New Mexico on March 31, 2021 at 12:00 PM, Pilo Rodriguez officiating.  Due to the COVID Pandemic, attendance at the graveside is limited to 10 people. Please practice social distancing at all times. Thank you for adhering to the Department of Health mandate.

Pallbearers include; Mark K. Campbell, Jason Campbell, Roy Campbell, Casey Campbell, Jeff Penney, and Alex White.

The Campbell family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the arrangements.
