I cannot explain adequately what it is like to watch my mother die. Memories flood my mind, no more "binkie" and bottle as it is time to become a toddler, or when the "blankie" was removed because it is time to grow up. I feel like my security and comfort is leaving me as my mom moves from earth into the arms of Jesus. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.
Mary Nell Bennett joined her parents, Leonard R Stout and Nellie (LeBrun) Stout; her brothers, Richard and John; and her son, Duwayne in Heaven on April 20, 2024.
Left behind to cherish her memory is her daughter, Marlo Bennett; grandchildren, Shawna Vann, James Bennett, JC Bennett, Jeremy Hood; 4 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren.
Mary retired from Otero Public Schools Special Education Department and the Blind School. In her 20's, she was a Red Cross Volunteer. Mary was an artist and loved making crafts and sharing them with special people, recently gifting shawls and washcloths that she lovingly crocheted. She attended several churches in Alamogordo and most recently, NHCC.
The Bennett family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home.
