Martha Saenz

Our Beloved Mother and Grandma, Martha Saenz, joined the Lord and her husband on January 27, 2023, in Las Cruces surrounded by her family. She was born on August 16, 1940, in Tularosa, New Mexico to Sesario and Rebecca Ramos. She had four sisters and three brothers.

Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Saenz. She is survived by two sisters, Estella Guerra and Olivia Palafox and many nieces and nephews; five daughters, Genevieve Reyes (Eddie),  Donnalisa Sanchez (Samuel), Corina Picazo (Fernando), Della Peralez (Eddie), Rachael Farrar (Chris), and her only son, Jesse Ray Saenz (Melissa). She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, Gilbert (Alaine), Jacob (Victoria), Isaac, Rebecca, Nico (Lorena), Samantha (Eric), Samuel (Jackie), Victoria (Gary), Johnny Ray (Mayra), Bryson, Gabrielle, Dominique, Carson, Lincoln, Raymond, Dominic, and Adam; 12 great grandchildren, Marilena, Elisio, Cody, Kayden, Kylie, Milaya, Easton, Zachariah, Patrick, Joaquin, Arianna, and Baby Picazo.

Martha was a loving mother and grandma and was always ready to help anyone. She was a very devout Catholic, and her faith was the greatest gift she gave to all of her family. She was a homemaker and caregiver. Caregiving being her true calling, caring for her grandchildren, babysitting other children, caring for sick family members, and the elderly. Martha loved sewing, quilting, crocheting, knitting, and being with her family. She was always ready to help anyone. She loved watching her grandchildren play sports and was their biggest cheerleader.

Although we are deeply saddened to have lost our beloved Mother/Grandma on earth, we have gained a beautiful guardian angel. She has left us all many great memories to remember her by.

A limb has fallen from the family tree that says grieve not for me. Remember the best times, the laughter, the song, the good life I lived while I was strong.

Services for Martha Saenz will be held on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at St. Joseph's Mission Catholic Church in Mescalero. 

Viewing will take place from 9:30 am to 10:30 am. Rosary will be recited at 10:30 am with Funeral Mass celebrated at 11:00 am with Father Patrick Montgomery, Celebrant.

Burial will follow services at Bent Cemetery.

The Saenz family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the funeral services.
