Margarita Almengor Roman

Margarita (Maggie) Almengor Roman, 94, born September 1, 1930, passed away on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at Betty Dare Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Alamogordo, NM.

Margarita is survived by her three sons, Ricardo Roman of the family home in Alamogordo, Robert (Joann) Roman of La Luz, and Rafael (Carolyn) Roman of Alamogordo; two sisters, Adelina Ortega and Christina Sarmenito both of Alamogordo; seven grandchildren, Sonya (Chris) Roman Lopez of Albuquerque NM, Sara Roman of Albuquerque, Jesus (Felis) Roman of Alamogordo, Anjel (Antoinette) Roman of Albuquerque, Rachelle (Dennis) Romo of Alamogordo, Rosalie (Clifton) Stevens of Artesia, and Melissa Gutierrez of La Luz; 18 great grandchildren, Joshua Johnson, Kyana Jane Lopez, Manuel Barnett, Mahki Gonzales, D’Andre Martin, Elis Roman, Kataleya Roman, Celena Romo, Celedon Romo, Gabriel Baldanado, Damien Baldanado, Adam Baldanado, Zoey Roman, Ilyana Gutierrez, DaMijia Stevenson, Jamesah Stevenson, Aristeo Chacon, and Nevaeh Gutierrez; two great grandchildren, Aislyn and Shaylyn Weeks; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jesus Roman; her parents, Rafael and Eluteria (Madrid) Almengor of Alamogordo; sisters, Carmen Almengor, Andria Duran, Juanita Nero, Theodora Pearson, and Maria Guadalupe (Bonnie) Almengor; grandson, James Gutirrez, Jr.

Family will greet friends at 10:00 am on Friday, September 12, 2025, at the Alamogordo Funeral Home, 2301 E. 1st Street, Alamogordo, NM with Rosary recited at 10:15 am. Burial will follow at the ICC Cemetery.

The Roman family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the funeral services.
