Lila (Bradley) Benham

Lila Benham was escorted home to be with her Lord and Savior on May 27, 2021. Her daughter, Carollyn and her granddaughter, Krystal were by her side.

Lila was born on April 4, 1933 in Cheyenne, Oklahoma to Alfred and Ida Bradley. She was the youngest of three brothers and one sister. She married the love of her life on May 8, 1949 at the age of 15. Ivan and Lila were married for 63 years and had three children, two daughters and one son. They moved to El Paso in 1952 where Ivan worked for El Paso Natural Gas for 35 years moving back to Alamogordo after he retired. Three of those years were spent in Algeria; Lila described those years as their adventure.

Lila was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Ida; sister, Alice Powell; brothers, Ray, Bob and Floyd Bradley; her beloved, Ivan; daughter, Bettie Lou; son, Ivan "Butch"; one grandson, Richard Coy McCloud.

Lila is survived by her daughter, Carollyn Carnley; 12 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; 16 great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was always ready to tell you about her family. She was "Gaga" to each one and she loved each and every one unconditionally.

The family will greet friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at Alamogordo Funeral Home Chapel.

The funeral service for Lila Benham will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, June 3, 2021 at Desert Hills Church of Christ with Pastor Al Maxey.

Burial will follow at Monte Vista Cemetery.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Lila loved Jesus and would say, "He loves you and asks so little of us. He only wants us to love Him back. It's all in God's hands". She will be greatly missed by all that knew her and loved her.
