Leo Bruce Comallie departed his loving family on November 12, 2022, in Alamogordo, New Mexico. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Dorothy Comallie. Leo was born on September 27, 1936, in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, to Evelyn and Herbert Comallie. He married Dorothy L Brandt on May 13, 1957, via an elopement to Jaurez, Mexico. Leo and Dorothy were married and in love for 65 years. His heart broke when he lost his beloved Dottie on October 26, 2022.
Leo had a reputation for being a friend to all. “If you met Leo, you met a friend.” He was a man of extreme generosity and took great care of family and friends. He loved the outdoors, and he enjoyed his land of enchantment through hunting, fishing, camping, and arrowhead and pottery hunting. Leo was an entrepreneur, an inventor, a treasure hunter, an engineer, a pilot, and most of all the beloved patriarch of the family.
Leo was an anchor to his family and friends. He is survived by his son and daughter, Chris and Lori Comallie; Lori’s husband, Marc Caplan; his grandson, Matt Stevens; his brother, Herb Shultz and his wife Mary; his step-grandchildren, Matthew and Christina Caplan (great grandchildren Rhys and Cora); his adopted grandson and his wife, Zachary and Courtney Jordan (great grandchildren Christian and Sebastian); adopted granddaughter, Suzette Stephens. His love was all encompassing and extended to close family friends, Cindy and Rick Babin and their children Sam, Christine, and Jennifer.
Leo has requested that services be private for immediate family only. Friends wishing to honor Leo are invited to donate in his name to their favorite charity.
The Comallie family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home.
