LaMoyne Allison Obituary
LaMoyne Shelley Allison ("Al") of Tularosa, NM was taken to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus in April 2023, at the age of 80. He was born in Las Vegas, NM on March 17, 1943, to Ira and Callie (Morris) Allison. The family later moved to Hatch and Alamogordo, NM. He graduated in 1961 from Alamogordo High School and had various jobs which included working for Alamogordo Parks and Recreation and the Alameda Park Zoo in the early 1960s.
At the age of 20, after completing flight and airline operations training in Kansas City, MO, LaMoyne became the youngest pilot for Trans-Texas Airways. He was first stationed in Santa Fe, NM and flew Douglas DC-3 aircraft. He eventually transferred to El Paso International Airport where he was a station agent. Later, the airlines became Texas International Airlines and he continued to work in El Paso until 1979 when he was transferred to Albuquerque, NM. He continued working there when it merged with Continental Airlines in 1982. He retired from the airlines in 1989 to start a small engine repair business in Tularosa, NM and to live near his mother. He always had an interest in computers and later built and repaired computers for locals. During retirement, he traveled to Brazil, Peru, and Columbia. During his life, he married and had children, raised sheep and goats, and loved having his dogs and cats over the years.
LaMoyne is survived by his second wife of 26 years Nancy (Schwartz Sisson) Allison; his stepson Scott Sisson and wife Susan; his daughter from his first marriage Rowena "Rae" (Allison) Aaron and her husband Ken; his daughter from his second marriage Melissa Allison-Ennis and her husband David; his son Samuel Allison and daughter Luisa Allison from his third marriage; his step-grandson Ryan Sisson and step-granddaughter Kaley Sisson; his grandson Brian Ennis; and his cat Bootsy.
He is preceded in death by his parents, half-brother, grandparents, aunts, and uncles.
Visitation will be at 10:30 am and the funeral service will start at 11:00 am at Alamogordo Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, June 3, 2023 (Alamogordo, NM). Interment will follow afterwards at the Monte Vista Cemetery in Alamogordo, NM. Pastor Ron Tyson of La Luz Bible Church will be officiating.
Pallbearers will include Scott Sisson, David Ennis, Brian Ennis, and Austin Stone.
