Kimberly (Kim) Sherrell Obituary

Kimberly Sue Sherrell (Kim), 61, went to be with our Lord on September 5, 2025, calmed by family members in El Paso, Texas. She was born on May 15, 1964, in Alpine, Texas to Arlie and Sharron Bryant.

Kim was a devoted servant of Christ, a loving mother, grandmother, and wife of 43 years to her husband, Dan. She was a lifelong member of The United Methodist Church and served her churches through many appointments throughout the years. She sang in the choir and served faithfully at the right hand of her husband in her final roll as a devoted pastor’s wife.

As a youth, Kim was a loyal friend and a scholar. She kept the same friends from birth to death and helped many of her friends through some of their worst trials. She was always at the top of her class and became a top-notch flautist and piccolo player. Kim graduated from Alpine High School at the top of her class in 1982 and received a BBA from Sul Ross State University in 1985. Shortly there later, she passed the Texas C.P.A. exam in 1992 and worked in accounting until 2022.

Kim was preceded in death by her mother, Sharron (Grossman) Bryant.

Her survivors include her father, Arlie (Larry) Bryant; sister, Lori Kimbrough, her husband Maury and their daughter Kayla Barron and husband Justin; sister, Melissa, her husband Peter; son, Keenon Sherrell, wife Katelynne and their daughter Clara and son Derek; daughter, Brianna Duerkson, her husband Ben and their son Jarren; along with her husband Dan Sherrell.

There will be a celebration of life service for Kim in Cloudcroft, NM at Cloudcroft UMC where Kim and Dan have served since July of 2020, on October 10, 2025, at 11:00 am. Reverend Judy Shema will preside.

Should friends desire, contributions may be made to United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR).

The Sherrell family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home.

Philippians 4:13, defined her life: “I can do all this through him who gives me strength”
