Kathryn Faye Phillips

Kathryn Faye Phillips departed this life on Monday, July 28, 2025, at 9:30 pm. She was the third daughter born to Odell and Dorothy Calloway. Kathryn was baptized at an early age at Mars Hill Baptist Church in Jena, Louisiana. She attended Good Pine High School. During her high school years, she was a superb girls basketball player and marching band majorette. In her adult life, she sang in the choir, worked as a nurse's aide, a seamstress, a bank teller, and an autistic home aid for minor children. 

Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents, Odell and Dorothy Calloway; son, Tracy Phillips; two sisters, Carolyn Rice and Delores Brown. 

Her memories are cherished by her husband of 51 years, Larry A. Phillips; daughter, Kendal Phillips; great niece, Lyric Rice. Her memory will live on with Aunt Velma Holly and sisters, Mildred (George) Henderson and Valerie Thompson. 

Kathryn was an extraordinary woman. She had a kind heart, a beautiful spirit, and many outstanding talents. She was loved and will be greatly missed by her entire family, including nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and neighbors. 

Services for Kathryn will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Alamogordo Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at 10:00 am followed by Funeral Service at 11:00 am with Pastor Delmos Lowe officiating.

Burial will follow at Monte Vista Cemetery.

The Phillips family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the funeral services.
