Judy Virginia Mooney Vann, 73, passed away on March 18, 2022 in Alamogordo, New Mexico. She was born on March 12, 1949 in Helena, Arkansas to Vera Allen Mooney and Harvey Wallace Mooney. Judy was a loving grandma to her grandchildren and she adored her husband and her daughter. Judy was a fighter for her husband and she is now peacefully by his side.
He said “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.” - Mark 5:34
Judy was sent to a special training school for her high school years. There she met Lelan Vann who was there for rehab after a car accident. Later when Lee returned to High Rolls, NM, Judy's mother accompanied her to NM to marry Lee. That marriage lasted over fifty years.
Judy was a very good many things which were the result of her strong will and determination to be independent. She was a Baptist and a born again Christian. She was humble, loving and generous person. One of her favorite phrases was, "you got that right".
Judy is preceded in death by her mother, Vera Lou Mooney; father, Bill Mooney, husband, Lelain Ivan Vann; brother and sister-in-law, Jimmie W and Sue Mooney; stepfather, William C Moore; grandparents, E.V. and Winnie Manning Allen, and Thomas Sylvester and Loretta Wooten Mooney.
Survivors include her daughter, Tracy Ann Northern; grandchildren, Danielle Lee Ann Robledo, David Cates and Brendan Lee Northern; great grandchildren, Audrey Northern, Rio Lee Northern and Khaosity Northern; son-in-law, Terry Cross; three sisters, Linda Mooney Little (Jim) of Memphis, TN, Betty Mooney Burns of Warren, AR, Alice Mooney Hochdorf (Norman) of Fort Worth, TX, and Catherine Mooney Wilson (Douglas) of El Dardo, AR; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will greet friends from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at the Alamogordo Funeral Home.
The funeral service for Judy Vann will be held at 12:00 pm, Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at the Alamogordo Funeral Home with Pastor Steven Fambrough officiating.
Burial will follow at Monte Vista Cemetery.
Pallbearers include David Cates, Brendan Northern, Rio Northern, David Vann, Bernard Millhouse, and Carrol Vann
