Juanita J. Smith

Juanita J. Smith was born March 9, 1945, in Janesville, Wisconsin.  She was the youngest of seven children.  In 1951 she and her family moved to Washington State.

Juanita passed away peacefully at home on March 15, 2024, at the age of 79, two of her daughters were by her side.

She is survived by her brother, Robert Smith of Oregon; son, James Hartsell, Jr. of Iowa; daughters, Jenise Edwards and Justine Totten of Oregon, Jenette Hartsell of Nevada, Joyce Hartsell of Iowa, and Josephine Totten of New Mexico.  Juanita has 13 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren as well as numerous nephews, nieces and many friends she had made throughout her life, including her friends she made in Germany.

Per Juanita's request, there will be no services held.  In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a meaningful cause in her name.

Juanita will be laid to rest at Monte Vista Cemetery in the city of Alamogordo, New Mexico, section M, lot 22, plot 4.

The family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home.
