Jose Trevino Olivarez

Jose Trevino Olivarez was born on May 23, 1946, to the late Ramona T. And Jose D. Olivarez. On October 24, 2023, the Lord called him home. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Ramona; brothers, Brijido and Mike. 

Jose is survived by his daughter, Josie (Jim) Morrison; granddaughters, Kristin (Jordon) and Megan; grandsons, Ryan (Melanie), Tyler (Trenda), and Brandon; father figure to Jessica, Miquella, Roman, and Terrance; sisters, Martha (Joe) Hernandez, Jenny (Walter) Dickinson; many friends, nephews, nieces, and cousins. 

In 1968, Jose began his 41-year career with the city of Alamogordo and could be seen weekdays caring for Washington Park with a smile and always waving at passersby. Standing at 6’4, he was lovingly known around town as “Big Joe” and was always ready and willing to lend a helping hand and was a friend to many.

Services for Jose will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at Alamogordo Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 am to 10:30 am. Rosary will be recited and 10:30 am with the Memorial Service to follow at 11:00 am.

Following services, Jose will be laid to rest at Monte Vista Cemetery.

A Gathering will be announced after the services.
