Jose Luis Cavazos

Jose Luis Cavazos,70, peacefully went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 28, 2021 in Tularosa, NM. He was born February 5, 1951 in Harlingen, TX to Urbano and Lucinda Hernandez-Cavazos.

Jose Luis joined the Job Corp as a teenager, which brought him to NM. He worked for the State Highway Department in Tularosa, NM for many years. He was always the life of the party and loved by all. His jokes and laughter will be missed. 

Survivors include his daughter, Linda (D) Jaramillo of Tularosa, NM; his son, Chris (Christen) Cavazos of Rio Rancho, NM; his sisters, Lucinda Cavazos-Garcia of Harlingen, TX, Georgina Cavazos of Austin, TX, Marcella (Rogelio) Gutierrez of McCallen, TX; his daughter-in-law, Kathryn (Gina) Cavazos; his granddaughters, Adrienne (AJ) Jaramillo of Tularosa, NM, Deja Castorena of Alamogordo, NM, Demi Cavazos of Alamogordo, NM, Aliana Cavazos of Rio Rancho NM, and Jessica (Kenneth) Balady of Jacksonville, NC; his grandson’s, Christopher and Isaiah Cavazos of Rio Rancho, Dominic (Ana) Cavazos of Alamogordo and Angel (Marci) Journey of Austin, TX; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Urbano Cavazos; his mother, Lucinda Hernandez-Cavazos; his son, Frank Cavazos; and his sister, Norma Jean Hernandez-Cordero; and Bernice Cavazos.

A Rosary will be held for Jose Luis Cavazos on Friday, November 19, 2021 at 10:30 am followed by Funeral Mass at 11:00 am at St. Francis De Paula Catholic Church. 

Graveside service will be held at 12:00 pm at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Tularosa, NM.

The family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the services.
