John (Jack) J Busick was called home to be with the Lord on November 6, 2025, in Alamogordo, New Mexico. Jack was born on August 3, 1926, to Elsie and George Sterling Busick in Baltimore, Maryland. On September 11, 1948, Jack married the love of his life, Margaret Ruth Busick. They celebrated 67 years of marriage. Jack and Ruth were blessed with two children, Diane Ruth Campbell (Kalei) who reside in Costa Mesa, California and David Lawrence Busick (Estela) who live in Alamogordo, New Mexico. Jack is survived by his children and beloved grandchildren, Kathryn Irene Busick and Joeseph Sterling Busick, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ruth; brother, George; and sister, Elsie.
Jack liked fishing, camping, woodworking and gardening. He was an avid golfer and was a wiz at word puzzles. He loved his Orioles and Ravens and was quite a fan. Jack was a member of First Presbyterian Church where he served proudly.
Jack loved the Lord, lived his life to the fullest, and was a good example to his family. Jack graduated from High School and was drafted into the service the next day. He served in the Army till the day the bomb was dropped on Hiroshima, which ended the war. He graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Science in Physics. Jack was employed by the University of California at Los Alamos. He rose to be the assistant Test Director of Nuclear Testing at Los Alamos and the Nevada Test Site. Jack retired after thirty-six years and traveled.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Jack's life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at First Presbyterian Church with Pastor James Baylor officiating. The Busick family invite you to join them.
