John Russell Euler, age 76, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2025, in Alamogordo, New Mexico. Born in Jacksonville, Florida, John dedicated his life to service, integrity, and quiet devotion to those he loved.
A proud veteran of the United States Army Military Police Corps, John served honorably for 22 years. His career took him across the globe, including two tours in Korea, one in Germany, and two in Puerto Rico, among many other duty stations. His commitment to excellence and safety was exemplified during his time at White Sands Missile Range where he played a key role in planning the security for a space shuttle landing, an achievement that reflected his meticulous nature and deep sense of responsibility.
John earned an associate degree in Criminal Justice and despite his stoic exterior, held a passion for woodworking, teaching others about the safe and responsible use of firearms, and surprisingly, computers. Above all, he cherished his family, offering quiet strength and unwavering support to those around him.
John is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Martha Euler. He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary K. Euler; his sons, Patrick and Christopher Euler; his sister, Eleanor Scavone; nine grandchildren who will carry forward his legacy of honor and integrity.
John’s life was marked by a relentless pursuit of excellence, a deep moral compass, and a quiet but profound love for his family and country. His accomplishments are too numerous to list, but his impact will be felt for generations.
A private memorial will be held by the family to honor his life and service. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Wounded Warrior Project.
The Euler family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the services.
