John Wako Clute, 83, passed away on July 16, 2020 in Alamogordo, New Mexico. He was born on April 26, 1937 in Westover, New York to Jack & Millicent (Kittle) Clute.
John passed peacefully in the family home. In addition to his beloved and devoted wife, he was surrounded by all his loving children, two of their spouses, several grandchildren and extended family members. He was a great man, devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many. He was a man of God with great integrity and character that loved deeply and served his country with honor. John was a Vietnam Veteran and served 22 years as a combat photographer in the United States Air Force.
Survivors include his loving wife of 61 years, Mary Clute, his son, Larry Clute (wife Christina), daughters, Teresa Farrington, Cindy Robertson (husband Jim), Norma Garrett (husband Dave), and Tina Clute Straseske, along with 14 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father, Jack T. Clute, his mother, Millicent Drake and stepfather, Earl Drake, first great grandson, Nathaniel Holzemer, and sister, Mary Lu Evans.
The Clute family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home.
