John T Bowers

John T. Bowers was born in Nodaway, Iowa on June 13, 1932.  He passed away on March 1, 2021. John was married to Lilian D. Jeffs in 1959 in England. He retired from the United States Air Force in 1978 where he was an aircraft mechanic.  He worked at the Monkey farm on Holloman Air Force Base, the Colston Foundation in Alamogordo as well as Clayton’s Service Station in Alamogordo. 

John T. Bowers was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and great-great father. 

He was an only child. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emmett J and Martha (Baughman) Bowers.  He was also preceded in death by his wife Lilian D. Bowers and son Keith J. T. Bowers.  

He is survived by three children: daughters Cheryl D. Gallegos of Alamogordo, NM, Roxanne Cook of Alamogordo, NM, Tracy Duggar of Menard, Texas, and one son Warren S. Bowers also of Menard, Texas.  John Bowers is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.  

A memorial service with military honors will conducted at a later date; date and time are pending.  

The Bowers family has entrusted their loved one to care of Alamogordo Funeral Home. Cremation will take place at PCS.
