Joe Romo

Joe Romo passed away on Monday, September 25, 2023, at the age of 42. He was born on April 21, 1981, in Alamogordo, NM to David Romo and Janice Blake. He was a 20 year veteran with the City of Alamogordo, Monte Vista Cemetery, Desert Lakes Golf Course, Parks and Recreation Department, as a mechanic's assistant. 

Joe was preceded in death by his grandparents, Umelio Jose and Carmen Najera Romo, Sherman and Zona Blake, and Louis and Florence Preciado, along with his pups, Diablo, Pookie, RZR, Peanut, and Zoey.

Joe is survived by his beautiful daughters, Justice and Lydia Romo, King and Ryno Romo; beloved wife of 20 years, Victoria Preciado; his parents, David Romo and Janice Blake; his four siblings, numerous nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends. 

Joe was an amazing man, a great father, perfect husband, and wonderful son/son-in-law, brother, and friend. He was very compassionate and kind. Joe loved his dogs more than many humans. He was a very hard worker, always making sure that his house and yard were on point. One thing about Joe, he took pride in everything that he did. Joe loved his lowriders, cruising the streets, bumping his gangsta music. His trucks were his pride and joy, always revving his exhaust pipes with his loud music and his balls swanging. Joe loved to be around his family and close friends whether it was riding his 4 wheelers or his razor. Joe and his family were very competitive during any activities such as bowling, go karts and racing. Joe loved to be at home with his family and pups who he adored very much. He also loved supporting and managing Lydia and Victoria playing softball, and Justice going out. Joe was our protector and our best friend, always making sure that we were all taken care of and he was always there to lend a helping hand when in need.

The memorial service for Joe Romo will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, October 14, 2023, at Mountain View Church with Pastor Richard Hernandez officiating.

The Romo family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the services.
