PAPA Jim Sanderson
Jimmy L. Sanderson passed away on April 25, 2024, at the age of 74. He was living in High Point, NC at the time of his death. Jimmy was born April 22, 1950, in Portales, New Mexico. He was best known for his sense of humor and joking manor. Jimmy was a loving father, grandfather, and husband. He graduated from Tularosa High School in 1969 and went on to have a successful career in the propane business for over 35 years. After retirement, he pursued his passion by opening his own food truck, Papa Jim's. He loved the outdoors, fishing, time in the mountains, riding his 4-wheeler, and gardening.
Jimmy is survived by his wife, Barbara Sanderson and his previous wife, Deb Sanderson; children, Gina and Michael Storseth along with grandchildren James and Jacob, Shawn Sanderson along with grandchildren Baylee, Masey, and Southern, Amanda and Oscar Veyna along with grandchildren Morgan, Colton, Kendall, and Alex, Laura Sanderson and partner, Lorina Sanchez along with grandchildren Faith, Jimmy, and Nyah; six great grandchildren with one more on the way.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lloyd and Elizabeth Sanderson, Clyde and Ethel Powell; parents, J.A. and Opal Sanderson; brother, Kenny Sanderson; father-in-law, J.C Lawhon.
Jimmy's Memorial Service will be held at Mountain View Church on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at 2:00 pm with Pastor Anthony Torres officiating. A reception will follow directly after the service at the church.
